This summer, I decided to try something new. I picked up an old canon film camera, some rolls of consumer-grade film from the nearest store, and ventured out to create! I was excited for the new adventure, and ready to dive into photography in a new way.
Learning film photography was on my bucket list for a long time, and after being inspired by one of my best friends, Reagan, who inherited a film camera, I decided to step out of my comfort zone to learn this new skill! I can’t thank her enough for letting me join in on the fun, because learning the art of film has been incredible.
I have been after the classic and timeless film look from the beginning of practicing digital photography, so trying my hand at film was surreal. The idea of slowing down and being intentionally about each click of my shutter was good for my mind, and my soul.
It’s been five months since I shot my first role of film, and I want to share scans along the way – the good and the bad.
